R2P3D21 – Light beams from outer space, Drifting to your satellite…

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday… things were crazy hectic. I was working on organizing my guest room (which is where I also keep all of my sewing/crafting supplies) until after 11pm last night! Once I wrapped up in there, I was so exhausted, I just went to bed. Didn’t even think about the computer!

After work yesterday was my nail appointment – and knowing I was going to be cleaning once I got home, I just couldn’t face cooking. So, I was super-naughty & picked up Vietnamese on the way home. I know it was not a smart choice… but it was yummy! (And I only _slightly_ regret the 2.8 pounds of water retention this morning.)

Of course… after spending hours working on the guest room… our guests may or may not be coming after all. There’s a storm due in tomorrow night – and they can’t chance being stuck on this side of the hill… One of them has to drive to SoCal on Sunday night for work on Monday (yuck), which means being able to head home after breakfast on Sunday. They’re going to look at the weather forecast tonight & discuss… and let me know.  I hope they do make it over, we’re looking forward to seeing them. But, I totally understand if they don’t – getting to work is important. 🙂

So, anyway. As I said above, I gained 2.8 this morning (I was down to 215 yesterday), so I’m doing a protein/fat day with lots of water. Hopefully I can get rid of some of this water retention.

Tomorrow night will be my first shot of R3! Loading on Saturday & Sunday! I’m excited… but I’m also not looking forward to the more stringent rules of the VLC days. I’m so close to my goal weight! Only about 20 pounds or so. (I may try to hit 190, to see if I can maintain there.) My general plan is to stay on R3P2 until I hit goal weight, or as long as I can keep myself motivated.

Oh! Exciting news! My friend, MizzM, is trying the Protocol out! She’s got the ‘stuff’ for a 24-26 day round. I’m hoping it works as well for her as it has for me…  I know she’s been pretty unhappy with her weight for a while now. She, also, has been trying diet & exercise. And, she’s pretty much just maintained for ages now. She has a blog, too, but I don’t know if she’ll be blogging this process. Perhaps she’ll let us know in the comments. 😉

I still occasionally feel that I’m “cheating” by using the hCG protocol – but cutting my calories & exercising was NOT working for me! I had initially lost about 35 pounds (over a year and a half), but then NOTHING for almost a year! Talk about distressing. Really makes you wonder why you’re working so hard – to not have anything happening. I really think that that long-ago doctor who basically put me on a starvation diet really f’ed up my system. I’m of the full opinion that the hCG process really has  reset my insulin responses. I know that this process has made me change my relationship with food. I’m in a better frame of self (if I may mix my metaphors) and I care more about *me* now.

The great thing is that with the weight loss I’ve had so far, I’m physically able to do more exercise.  Last time, when I tried to do the couch to 5k program, I only managed a couple of days before giving up. Twice. Now, I’ve got way more energy – and while it’s a struggle, I can totally see myself being able to eventually run an entire 5k. And I’m excited!  Of course, I won’t be running during the VLC phase… that would probably not be safe. Eating only 500 calories a day does not leave a lot of extra there for high intensity workouts.  But, I’m aiming to walk a couple miles every day. I’ve been walking a half mile every day, just taking a break at work, but I’m going to pump it up so I can jump right back into the C25K when I get back to P3.

Okay. I’m going to go to bed early tonight – to try to make up for my super late night yesterday.  *fingers crossed* that tomorrow’s weight goes in the right direction!

Wednesday food:
Breakfast was  butter chicken, riced cauliflower, eggs, & a Venti Iced Breve Latte from Starbucks.
Lunch was a really big Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing.
Dinner was Bun Thit Nuong (bbq pork noodle bowl).
Water count: 80 oz

Food today:
Breakfast was 7 oz pork chop with blue cheese sauce, 3 slices bacon, and coffee/cream.
Lunch was 5 oz beef brisket sauteed with a bit of onion, with a dollop of ricotta cheese.
Snack was 1 oz macadamia nuts & Just The Cheese.
Dinner was 4 oz Rib Eye steak.

Water count: 110 oz

R2P2D23 – Welcome to your life, there’s no turning back…

Today’s “moment of truth” marks me at 18 pounds lost for this round!

I’m totally wiped out, so this is going to be a short one…  I’ve been doing deep cleaning of my house for the past 4 days (in addition to working all day at my actual job). My house is now beautimous! Fortunately, Hubby & Roomie finally jumped in with some help… with a bit of prodding. Otherwise, there’s no way the place would have been company-ready by tomorrow evening!

I’ve decided for sure to do a veggie/Ranch tray, a cheese/meat/olive tray, and thin-sliced baguette toasted with garlic butter -maybe with spinach dip to go along with the wine that the party is themed as.  Too bad I won’t be able to eat most of it (but, I will probably ‘cheat’ a bit and have a glass of wine). Tomorrow night is only 48 hours, not the 72 needed for the Rx strength rounds… I’m not supposed to have the fats until Thursday night.

Breakfast was coffee/water & 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese.
Snack was strawberries.
Lunch was turkey/mushroom chili.
Dinner was Fage 0%.

R2P2D22 – Boom boom acka-lacka lacka boom…

Well, tomorrow is the “big day”… My “LIW” (Last Injection Weight) day for Round 2! It is super-highly-unlikely that I’ll hit the 20 pound mark… but, that’s okay, really 18 pounds in 23 days is pretty awesome. And, if this round is anything like last round – I’ll still lose a bit during P3/P4. I lost just over 6 pounds last time.

I’m planning on jumping back into the Slim in 6 stuff, in about a week. (I want to give my body time to build it’s energy reserves back up. Just cleaning the house has been leaving me exhausted!) Maybe even trying the P90X! Hubby was doing the P90X, but ended up having to cut WAYYY back. He was eating as much as he could stand to, and was still dropping weight pretty fast. He feels that he’s at the weight he wants to be at, so… Instead of 6 times a week, he’s doing 3 or so. He really doesn’t need to be any skinnier… he’s looking really slim now!

Oh! And, I’ll do new photos on Saturday… I think I’m right around 20 pounds less than my last set.

So, my living room is now SPOTLESS! Let’s see if we can keep it that way until Wednesday. LOL  Hubby got started on the den, I just need to tidy up the bookshelves & clear my desk. We’ll do a quick carpet shampoo in there tomorrow as well.  Roomie has gotten started on the kitchen. Yay! Things are coming together!
Now, I just need to figure out what sort of munchie I want to serve at my party! It’s a “wine” party… so maybe I’ll just do a veggie/cheese/bread platter… hmm…

Lunch was shrimp.
Dinner was turkey/mushroom chili.

R2P2D20 – Forty seven dead beats living in the back street…

*sigh*  It’s like being in rush hour traffic! Stop & go & stop & go…

I’m wondering if having some eggs yesterday was the culprit. Some people stall with eggs during the VLC phase. I didn’t on my last round – but who knows what my body is going to do next. 🙂  Huh… So, the three times I had eggs this round, my next day numbers were: 0.2, 0.8, & 0.0  Doesn’t really seem like much of a trend, does it?

I guess, looking at my daily records, I shouldn’t be too worried – but I was definitely hoping to hit 20 pounds on this phase. I’ve got 2 more injections, so I’ve got 3 days of “losing” to see if I get close to it. (I’m doing the injections at night, right before dinner – so, I’m going to count the weight the next morning as my “last injection weight”.) Tuesday will be the moment of truth for P2. LOL

Well, I’d better get back to organizing my living room – Gotta get it spotless for the Tupperware party (which has now been moved to Wednesday…)  I’ve been alphabetizing & re-shelving my dvd’s today (and scanning them into a database on my phone). This has taken, literally, all damn day. I think I’m up to almost 600 titles in the database? *whew*

Breakfast was coffee/water & 3/4 cup fat free Greek yogurt.
Lunch was flank steak & cauliflower.
Dinner was chicken breast, broccoli, & 1 garlic melba round.

R1P3D10 – Livin’ la vida loca…

Today: 238.0 / LDW: 239.6 / Net: -1.6

Didn’t manage to get half of the stuff done today that I wanted to… But, it was a pretty full day none-the-less.

Hubby, Roomie, & I and went out for breakfast. Then we went to Target to buy some new storage boxes so I could organize the den a bit. Also picked up Call of Duty 3 for Hubby & the Kinect Zumba for me. Yay for $$ from my folks for Christmas! (If the Zumba is any good, I may just cancel my gym membership…)

Ran home, dropped off our breakfast leftovers, and then went to the movies. Saw Sherlock Holmes again… Roomie really wanted to see it, and I don’t mind seeing Mr Downey Jr again. 😉

After the movie, we walked over to try to get our pan roasts (since we were still jonesing for them from Saturday’s failed attempt). Service was a bit better…  but still really slow. They seriously didn’t bring us the check until we stood up and started putting on our coats! (After it took them forever to bring us leftover containers…)  Oh well. At least I got my pan roast. 😀

Once we got home, Hubby went out and put the wrap on the water heater (took a really long time) while I started in on the den – including dragging one of my china hutches over about 4 feet, so we have a path into the kitchen from the den again. (Roomie sat at her computer, and hasn’t budged since…)  I got the area organized where we planned on putting the Nordicflex that I got from a co-worker. And then we set it up.  I think it needs some oiling or something, it’s not retracting the way it should… but once we get it ‘tuned up’, I think it will be a nice thing to use.  As long as it doesn’t turn into a coat rack! LOL

So, I guess we did get quite a bit accomplished… Still didn’t manage any laundry, though… and I REALLY still need to get my DVDs scanned & alphabetized. They’re a big mess right now! *sigh* Maybe next week… it’ll be a ‘minor’ project that I can work on while we have company in from out of town.

Breakfast was half of a turkey/tomato/spinach omelet, a bit of cottage cheese, & coffee/cream.  Lunch was 1/2 a Pan Roast and hot tea. Snack was a piece of almond cocoa crack. Dinner was corned beef & cabbage, a baby bel cheese, & a cheese stick.
