Whoops. Here I am again… not posting for several days.

Well, I was busy, then I was not busy, then I just din’wanna. So.

But, I’m here right now!

Let’s see.  Saturday the hubby & I drove down to Sacramento area (about 2 1/2 hours, each way) to meet up with some friends to go through the Train Museum and an enormous corn maze (in Dixon, CA). It was a lot of fun. We called it “meeting in the middle”, since they were coming from the Monterey area…
We ended up eating out for two meals (being on the road will do that), but I was REALLY proud of myself on making smart choices. Both restaurants were very accommodating. (Even the one that I asked for the veggies from one dish to replace the rice in the fish dish I ordered!)

Sunday, I processed the last of the plums – another 7 pints of BBQ sauce and another 4 of jam. *whew*

Hubby is in LA for a training course, so I’m on full dog duty. Oof on the whole getting up in the middle of the night thing… I mostly just yell at them to get back in bed. I know they can hold it for more than 3 hours. Mostly, they just want to be fed. They will often start asking for breakfast around 3:30 am or so.  Fahgedabboudit! They can wait until 5, like the civilized beasties I want them to be. LOL

R4P2D15 – Waiting for the summer rain, yeah…

Well. I’m going totally rogue. My head has not been in the game for at least the last week – so I’m cutting my P2 short. My last injection was on Saturday night, so I’m transitioning now to P3. That will start on Wednesday morning. (Boo yah, bacon & eggs!)
I’m really happy with my losses this round, even if I didn’t quite hit my goal. I wanted to get solidly into “normal” BMI – which is 24.9 and under. This morning, I was at 25.  Pretty damn close.

R4P2D11 – The still cold smell of morning…

Okay. To start… I just have to say: SmoothMove Tea ain’t so gentle! My tummy was gurgling all night & this morning I was having cramping before anything was ‘moved’. Yikes. It did work, however. LOL!

Now, for something a bit more serious. Remember that everything in this world is transitory. One day you can be plugging along in your own little world, and the next something horrible could happen. Please, tell those you love that you love them – all the time. Don’t wait for birthdays or holidays or the right moment. Cherish the ups and downs.   I found out this morning that a friend from years back and her little daughter had been missing since Monday. This afternoon, her son announced on her facebook that they had been found – but not the way anyone would have hoped.  Apparently, the Sheriff’s office found them under the ice in a pond on their property. At this point, no one knows how it happened. The good thing is that there’s no foul play indicated. The bad thing is that two wonderful bright flames have been snuffed out WAY too young. Rest in peace, ladies.

As much as I seriously didn’t want to work out when I got home from work… I sucked it up and did 2 miles on the treadmill. I’m glad I did – but now I’m TIRED!

I’m wondering if I was as ready to do this round as I thought I was.  I’m not ready to throw in the towel – but my mind doesn’t seem to be in the game. I’ve got 2 more weeks of VLCD. Hope I can hold out!

R4P2D6 – Come come come play the game…

Today, Hubby, Roomie, & I went over to Bestie’s house & played GAMES! We played Apples to Apples, Huggermugger, and Melarkey. Really enjoyed the first two, had a bit of a hard time with Melarkey… apparently, none of us are good at verbal bluffing! LOL  Oh well.

I packed my lunch, snack, & dinner to have over there, and I did good. No problems at all! I even managed to drink 3 bottles of water. 🙂

This morning was difficult, though… Hubby & I have a weekly ‘tradition’ of going to our local “greasy spoon” for breakfast on weekends… and, this was the first weekend of this round – so my brain kept screaming FEED ME OMELETTE!  Ah, well – I just drank my coffee & a bottle of water like a good girl & ignored my brain. I wasn’t really hungry… I think it was just habit!

Breakfast was coffee.
Snack was a cup of frozen blueberries.
Lunch was beef & radishes.
Dinner was broccoli and chicken soup (pureed the broccoli!).

I’m actually losing WAY faster than I expected. I figure it’ll slow down any minute now. That is how it works, after all. 🙂

I’m not having too hard of a time yet…. even though when I got home from work, Roomie had made a pan of brownies for her work potluck tomorrow. *ACK* That smelled soooooo good!  I don’t have the calories available today to eat something cocoa-y, so I’ll suck it up. If I’m still feeling sad about missing brownies tomorrow, I’ll make sure I can sneak in a cocoa dessert.

This next year is going to cray-zeee! Planning on doing the Wine & Dine Half Marathon at DisneyWorld in November, going to do the San Francisco Progressive Marathon (again) in June, and Hubby and I are in the Fabulous Miss M’s wedding (several states over) on Labor Day weekend. Plus, Hubby & I are planning to do some Disney stuff with our friends from Oz after the wedding. Woot!  I also expect that Hubby & I will be doing the Edible Pedal again – our goal is to complete the 50 miles in under 3 hours. We’ll see how that goes.

R3P3D2 – I heat up, I can’t cool down, You got me spinnin’ ‘Round and ’round…

And, back to the same weight as 2 days ago. Okay. Works for me. LOL

My aim for this round is to have a REALLY clean first week of P3 (and, hopefully week 2 as well – but I’m not going to push my luck). I think it’ll help me stabilize better. I *know* that not having a great honking lump of cheddar bread will help. LOL! While it was really yummy, and I’m not sorry to have had it last round, I know it threw my stabilization for a loop.

Oh! Speaking of loops… (see what I did there? segue!)
I’ve bought a weighted hoop! The one I picked can transition between 3-4-5 pounds, so I’ll hopefully be able to use it for longer… I also bought a video & a book to go along with it. Book/video came today – I’ve watched the video & flipped through the book. My hoop comes tomorrow – and I’m really looking forward to trying it out! I’ve heard that it’s really good exercise for core work. And it looks FUN!  I think that the hooping, the kettlebell, and the C25K program will all keep me going in the right direction.

R3P2D16 – You found a new world and you want to taste it…

Today: 205.6 / LIW: 206.2 / Net: -0.6

You may notice a little format change there… You may be asking yourself, “Self, why did she switch to the P3/P4 format only 16 days into P2??”  Well, you can let yourself know that there’s a good reason… I’m cutting this round short.

I’ve been extra hungry every day for over a week now – That’s never happened on previous rounds. I’ve also been getting dizzy spells (I’m sure part of that was being sick for a couple of days – but it’s been every day!) and feeling just weak & generally ‘not right’. And, my skin is being all crinkley & odd, too.
I’ve read that “you’ll know” when you’re done losing weight with hCG… and I’m wondering if I’ve hit that wall… Or, if my body is just telling me that cycling was the dumbest idea EVER?
So, Hubby & I discussed it, and I’ve stopped my injections at 16, and I’m transitioning back into P3 and then into P4. For at least 2 months. If I can’t lose this last 10 or so pounds during P4 with diet/exercise (if I even need to, honestly), then I may try another round of hCG this summer.

This has definitely been a wild six months. 🙂 I still TOTALLY think that the hCG was the right choice for me – I am now down 95 pounds from my highest weight, after all! (60 with the hCG) But, I need to give my body & skin time to recover, I think.

Anyway, I’ll be spending the next few months concentrating on getting myself into good cardiovascular shape, work on getting my skin tone back, work on muscle toning. Hubby & I have a few Century bike rides we’d like to do and we’re planning on doing the San Francisco Progressive Marathon. I think probably that the training for those will help with my goals.

Oh! More good – I had to go buy new pants (again)… and, I’m ROCK SOLID in a size 16! I’m just giddy about this! Not even a 16W or a Lane Bryant 16… a real 16! Woot!!!  I think it’s only a matter of time now, that I’ll be able to get into those Old Navy 14s that I’ve had socked away in the top of my closet for ages. 🙂

Breakfast was some cube steak & jalepenos.
Lunch was turkey/mushroom chili with a dolop of Fage.
Dinner was the same as lunch.

R3P2D9 – Yeah, Brylcream, a little dab’ll do yah, Oh, I could do some cruising too …

And, I keep plugging along…

I decided today that I didn’t want to even think about what to cook… so I concluded that today was to be a fat-free Fage (fff) day! Yay! Nothing but yogurt – so simple!  It’s “rogue”, but I don’t really care at this point. (I may care later, if it causes stabilization issues… but who knows!) One of my friends who’s done several rounds said that she does a fff day several times a month. And has had no problems at all. I figured it would be a nice/easy change-up from my normal routine. And I didn’t have to make dinner. ;-)  I went with part fat-free & part 2% Fage, to mimic the fat/calorie content of a regular food day.

Of course, now I’m feeling REALLY full… and, I’m done with yogurt for a while. LOL

Breakfast was coffee/milk & 7 oz 2% Fage with a scoop of Coco-Pro.
Snack  was 7 oz fff with a scoop of Coco-Pro.
Lunch was 10 oz fff with English Toffee Stevia.
Dinner was 7 oz 2% Fage with Vanilla Creme Stevia & 1 tsp cinnamon.

R2P3D21 – Light beams from outer space, Drifting to your satellite…

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday… things were crazy hectic. I was working on organizing my guest room (which is where I also keep all of my sewing/crafting supplies) until after 11pm last night! Once I wrapped up in there, I was so exhausted, I just went to bed. Didn’t even think about the computer!

After work yesterday was my nail appointment – and knowing I was going to be cleaning once I got home, I just couldn’t face cooking. So, I was super-naughty & picked up Vietnamese on the way home. I know it was not a smart choice… but it was yummy! (And I only _slightly_ regret the 2.8 pounds of water retention this morning.)

Of course… after spending hours working on the guest room… our guests may or may not be coming after all. There’s a storm due in tomorrow night – and they can’t chance being stuck on this side of the hill… One of them has to drive to SoCal on Sunday night for work on Monday (yuck), which means being able to head home after breakfast on Sunday. They’re going to look at the weather forecast tonight & discuss… and let me know.  I hope they do make it over, we’re looking forward to seeing them. But, I totally understand if they don’t – getting to work is important. 🙂

So, anyway. As I said above, I gained 2.8 this morning (I was down to 215 yesterday), so I’m doing a protein/fat day with lots of water. Hopefully I can get rid of some of this water retention.

Tomorrow night will be my first shot of R3! Loading on Saturday & Sunday! I’m excited… but I’m also not looking forward to the more stringent rules of the VLC days. I’m so close to my goal weight! Only about 20 pounds or so. (I may try to hit 190, to see if I can maintain there.) My general plan is to stay on R3P2 until I hit goal weight, or as long as I can keep myself motivated.

Oh! Exciting news! My friend, MizzM, is trying the Protocol out! She’s got the ‘stuff’ for a 24-26 day round. I’m hoping it works as well for her as it has for me…  I know she’s been pretty unhappy with her weight for a while now. She, also, has been trying diet & exercise. And, she’s pretty much just maintained for ages now. She has a blog, too, but I don’t know if she’ll be blogging this process. Perhaps she’ll let us know in the comments. 😉

I still occasionally feel that I’m “cheating” by using the hCG protocol – but cutting my calories & exercising was NOT working for me! I had initially lost about 35 pounds (over a year and a half), but then NOTHING for almost a year! Talk about distressing. Really makes you wonder why you’re working so hard – to not have anything happening. I really think that that long-ago doctor who basically put me on a starvation diet really f’ed up my system. I’m of the full opinion that the hCG process really has  reset my insulin responses. I know that this process has made me change my relationship with food. I’m in a better frame of self (if I may mix my metaphors) and I care more about *me* now.

The great thing is that with the weight loss I’ve had so far, I’m physically able to do more exercise.  Last time, when I tried to do the couch to 5k program, I only managed a couple of days before giving up. Twice. Now, I’ve got way more energy – and while it’s a struggle, I can totally see myself being able to eventually run an entire 5k. And I’m excited!  Of course, I won’t be running during the VLC phase… that would probably not be safe. Eating only 500 calories a day does not leave a lot of extra there for high intensity workouts.  But, I’m aiming to walk a couple miles every day. I’ve been walking a half mile every day, just taking a break at work, but I’m going to pump it up so I can jump right back into the C25K when I get back to P3.

Okay. I’m going to go to bed early tonight – to try to make up for my super late night yesterday.  *fingers crossed* that tomorrow’s weight goes in the right direction!

Breakfast was  butter chicken, riced cauliflower, eggs, & a Venti Iced Breve Latte from Starbucks.
Lunch was a really big Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing.
Dinner was Bun Thit Nuong (bbq pork noodle bowl).
Water count: 80 oz

Food today:
Breakfast was 7 oz pork chop with blue cheese sauce, 3 slices bacon, and coffee/cream.
Lunch was 5 oz beef brisket sauteed with a bit of onion, with a dollop of ricotta cheese.
Snack was 1 oz macadamia nuts & Just The Cheese.
Dinner was 4 oz Rib Eye steak.

R2P3D2 – This time I had a good time, ain’t got time to wait…

I. LOVE. CONCERTS.

The Foreigner concert tonight was flipping AWESOME!! My throat is killing me… And I’m probably going to be super sore tomorrow. But, it was so worth it. Dancing, singing, screaming. Yeah, baby.

We got to meet (briefly) the band & get our photo taken with them. We were told that we couldn’t do “personal photos” or get autographs, though. Hopefully the pro photos that were taken will be up on the website soon… I can’t wait to see it!

I truly hate most of the concert venues here in town… And, unfortunately, the venue that this concert was at is one of the worst.  It’s not a problem with acoustics… it’s not a problem with the view… The big problem is that it’s in a casino, so most of the best seats are ‘comped’ to people who gamble a lot. Now, these people usually have NO FLIPPING IDEA who it is they’re seeing. And, most of the them don’t care. It’s a free show to them. And, heaven for-fucking-bid that you are standing up & dancing & enjoying the show and blocking even a bit of their sorry-ass-still-in-their-seats-view.
Truly, I feel really bad for the bands, though… all of the “prime” seats have these people in them, who are just sitting there staring at the band. Not dancing, not singing along, not even frigging clapping to the beat. The first two songs were awesome, but no one was out of their seats! (Not even us yet, because we’ve been told before by that venue to sit back down.) Not until the band said “You may not have been told… that this is not a sitting concert!” that people got up. And, seriously, most of them sat right back down within half a song.
NOT US! That was all the invitation we needed! Didn’t sit down again until the band took their final bows & the lights came up!

Hubby, Roomie, & I went out after breakfast and did some clothes shopping today… I was pretty much out of clothes that fit! I had a couple pairs of jeans & 2 blouses. Not really gonna work for daily wear!  But, I have to say, I love thrift stores! You can find some really awesome stuff for really cheap. 🙂  I got 6 pairs of slack & a dozen or so blouses and hubby got 5 pairs of slacks & 6 shirts for right around $140. Then, I got another 4 blouses & some camisoles at Ross for $60. Lots of clothes for $200. Yay!

Food today was… special today.  I tried (mostly) to eat on-plan… but I splurged in a couple of places, so hopefully I don’t have to do a steak-day tomorrow.

Breakfast was half of: 3-egg omelette with Polish sausage, bacon, onion, mushroom, bell pepper, & jack cheese. Sour cream & salsa. Cottage cheese. Coffee with half & half.
Lunch was the other half of breakfast & coffee with heavy cream.
Dinner was: appetizer of Spicy Tuna Tartar (Fresh Yellow Fin Tuna with a slightly sweet and spicy dressing served over fresh spaghetti-cut cucumber salad with minted Sake vinaigrette, thick Indonesian soy and Siracha. A glass of Pinot Grigo. Dinner was 4 lamb chops, snap peas, & spaghetti squash. My big splurge was that I went ahead and had a piece of the table bread – it was heavenly! Cheese Bacon Garlic bread with butter.

Water count: 90 oz.
(About a mile of walking, 2 hours of trying on clothes, then an hour and a half of dancing – I think I got a little exercise in today…)
