R3P4D19 – Here I am… Rock you like a hurricane…

Okay, okay… I’ve been slipping on my blogging. Sorry. Weather is (mostly) rockin’ & I’m spending as much time outside as I can!  Plus, I’m probably at the point now where posting every day is kind of silly… I track my food on SparkPeople – I have for years – so, I’m at least remaining accountable with what I eat. I’m just not boring all of you with the exact details. 🙂  I will try to post at least once a week, though.

Let’s see… this week… I’ve gone on a couple of jogs. I’m repeating week 2 of the C25K program – for a couple of reasons. First, I just don’t think I’m ready for week 3 yet. Second, because Hubby has finally decided that he needs to start training too. 😀

Today, Hubby & I went on a 28 mile ride. It was GLORIOUS! (If a bit chilly at times – the weather has been super wonky.) I even still had some energy after we were done! View my MapMyRide data

Now, I’m off to finish cooking dinner… Rib eyes & artichokes! Nom!

R3P4D13 – Goddess on the mountain top, Burning like a silver flame…

Well… Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days… But, I don’t seem to have enough hours in the day! My choice was to blog or to exercise. And, well, since I didn’t post for a few days – guess what I did! 🙂

On Saturday, Hubby & I decided to get our gaits assessed. There’s a running store in town that does it for free. And, since we were there… we both got new (really nice!) running shoes. Yay! We also hit Sierra Trading Post & got me some new riding gear – my pants were falling off & I really needed a jersey that fit. Then, we stopped into REI (sale day!) and got a bunch of stuff – including a nice bag to go onto the rack on my bike. It just slides right on & clips!  That evening, when hubby left to go game with friends, I went on a short 6 mile ride. Didn’t do a long one, since I was by myself & neither Hubby or Roomie were close enough to “rescue” me in case of a problem.

Sunday, Hubby & I went on the Verdi ride again. Ali was going to come with us… but when I texted her at 8:30 (the time we were going to meet up), she had just gotten up. LOL  So, we headed out on our own. Our pace was a little slower this week, but still, 11mph is nothing to sneeze at – especially with some of the hills on the route! Then, we went & saw Avengers again (woot!) – this time NOT in 3D.

I’m up a bit in weight today for a couple reasons – one, I didn’t drink enough water (at all) over the weekend. I only got in about 2L per day, instead of my usual 3… and it’s worse because I was exerting myself! The second reason is because I splurged with a 10″ Gluten Free pizza for supper -with a beer.  Oh well. Gotta live, right??

Today, Hubby & I broke in our running shoes. He joined me in my afternoon C25K run. We did 2 miles in the 30 minute program.

Oh! On Saturday, I had Hubby take a pic of me in my new bike gear.  And, I compared it to a pic taken back in September on a ride with Ali… HOLY COW, Obvious weight loss is obvious.

R3P4D10 – I’m a rolling thunder, a pouring rain, I’m comin’ on like a hurricane…

I’m not really in a verbose mood… so this’ll be pretty short…

Went on a ‘run’ today… Week 2 Day 1 of the Couch-to-5K program. I didn’t do too badly, considering my last run was back in March! My speed has increased a tad. I managed 2.1 miles in the 30 minutes. My last session was 1.95 miles. Yay!

I really do need to get my tukkus in gear with the training… That July 29th date for the SF Progressive Marathon is sneaking up on me! (Of course, it’s sneaking up on hubby too… but he hasn’t done a single training session yet!)

My general plan is to run 2-3 times a week, do Kinect dance games 2-3 times a week, & ride my bike 1-2 times a week. Plus, I’m trying to do some exercises with my 8 lb dumbbells and pushups & pullups. At this point, I’m not worried about losing any more weight – I just want to tone up what I have & improve my cardiovascular health. (Getting there… I _did_ managed to run for 90 seconds straight, several times.)

Breakfast was chocolate mug cake, egg, bacon, & coffee/cream.
Snack was pistachio nuts & Just The Cheese.
Lunch was a steak salad with chipotle ranch dressing.
Dinner was El Pollo Loco – chicken leg/thigh, garden salad, & corn cake.

R3P4D8 – Heard it from a friend who, Heard it from a friend who…

I decided to splurge this evening & made a big batch of CocoaCrack! I also decided to try making peanut butter cups… well, okay, almond butter cups, actually.  I’m pretty darn pleased with how they turned out! (And Pumpkin is jealous & wants to know why she can’t have it, since I was just holding it out there…)

One of our friends, who we haven’t gotten to see in at least 6 months, stopped by this evening. Life has been crazy for everyone & she lives on the other side of town – so we just haven’t managed to get together. So, it was nice to have a bit of a visit. She & her boyfriend are going to be moving in together in a few weeks. I’m very excited for her!  She got sick last week, so wasn’t able to go on our Verdi ride with us… but maybe she’ll be able to go with us this weekend. She really does like riding a lot (she’s the reason we got back into bicycling), and she really hasn’t had the time.

Of course, having company come over meant that I skipped my work out today. But, I think that’s okay – I should be giving my body an occasional break anyway, right? And, I did do a 15 minute walk this afternoon. So, I didn’t not move at all today…

At lunch, I decided I wanted to have a bit of a treat & ordered a diet Pepsi… well, that is NOT what I got. It’s been about 6 months since I had a soda – but I’m pretty sure I can still tell the difference between diet & regular! The waitress said that it was the diet – but I really don’t think it was. I took one small sip – and then asked the waitress to bring me an iced tea instead. *bleh*

Breakfast was bacon & eggs, coffee/cream.
Snack was 2% Fage with CocoPro.
Lunch was chicken wings, celery, carrots, & ranch dressing.
Dinner was tri tip, home made coleslaw, & cocoa crack!

R3P4D7 – Singin hey diddle diddle with a kitty in the middle, And they swingin like it just don’t care…

Hmm.. I really need to do an updated progress pic. Of course, the bathing suit is different now – the leopard print one doesn’t really fit anymore! I was able to find a new suit in the same style, though. Yay!

Work was -spechul- again today… the person I’ve been covering for (on vacation) was supposed to be back today. And, well, she wasn’t. *sigh* God, I hate it when people have ‘short-timers’… If you don’t want to come back, just quit for godsake. And the lady I like, who gave notice, was “released” today. *double sigh*

So, came home & had a glass of wine while I was making dinner. That helped. Then I played DC2 for 50 minutes. That helped more.

Breakfast was chocolate mug cake, eggs, Fage, coffee/cream.
Snack was macadamia nuts & Just The Cheese.
Lunch was roast beef/green onion/cream cheese rolls and home made coleslaw.
Dinner was Butter Chicken over fried cabbage & the glass of wine.

R3P4D6 – I’m coming down, coming down like a monkey, but it’s alright…

Guess the bread didn’t cause an issue. LOL!  Just goes to show that an occasional splurge is not a horrible thing.  It’s only when it’s a constant gorge that one runs into trouble.

Today I did about 50 minutes of my DC2 game. Yay! I think I may be getting close to bumping up the difficultly level to medium. 🙂  I’m consistently 5-starring the easy mode.

Work was sucky today… someone I really like gave notice. Plus, I ended up having to help out the position I got booted from. *le sigh* Guess it’s a good thing I’m a multi-tasker. Since today I was ALSO still covering for someone who was on vacation.

Breakfast was bacon, eggs, chocolate mug cake, & coffee/cream.
Snack was Just The Cheese.
Lunch was a steak salad with chipotle ranch dressing.
Dinner was a pork chop & cabbage salad.

R3P4D5 – Red red wine, you make me feel so fine, You keep me rockin’ all of the time…

Didn’t end up going on our hike today… one of our pups got a hold of a corn cob yesterday & spent the night and part of the morning yarffing bits of cob. *sigh*  We didn’t want to leave her home alone, in case there was more than just standard cob barf. So, we spent the morning hanging around the house & watching the Iron Man movies.

Hubby & I did get a short (1 mile) bike ride in, though. We went to the grocery store to pick up a few light weight things. And, with the nice weather & the store being so close… we decided that driving was just silly.

What did we get at the store, you might ask? Well, I decided that today was the day I was going to try out Rory’s Vanilla Meringue Cookie recipe! This meant I needed to pick up some more cream of tartar (since I seemed to be out) and a carton of egg whites. I cooked them for 43 minutes, which seemed long enough… but I probably needed to leave them in the oven a bit longer afterward. They were a little spongy. But, they tasted good and smelled amazing. They were the perfect movie theater snack, when we went and saw Avengers this evening!

Speaking of Avengers… Oh. My. God.
That was freaking amazing. Must see again.

But, that being said, I’m off to bed, as it’s late & I have work tomorrow.

Breakfast was diced pork ribs, mushrooms, zucchini, & bell pepper, with a breve latte.
Lunch was pistachio nuts, Dubliner cheese, carrots, & cauliflower with ranch.
Snack at the theater was the meringue cookies & Just The Cheese.
Dinner was a crab/shrimp pan roast, bread with butter, & a glass of wine.

R3P4D4 – I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it where I like…

Today’s ride was AWESOME!! We averaged right at 13 mph. And, with some of the hills on that ride – I’m pretty darn pleased.  PLUS! I finally managed to get up that damn 8% grade without having to get off and walk my bike! *giddy*giddy* We did 15.8 miles in 1:17. Not too shabby.

After our ride, we had Bestie & her hubby & her girlie come over for BBQ & movies. Ate until we were all very full – but it was so yummy!  We had an Avengers-a-thon, since we’re all going to go see The Avengers tomorrow. We watched Thor, Hulk, & Captain America. Woot!

Well, had a very full day… and tomorrow is going to be a full one too. Going on a hike, a picnic, & a movie.  I’m going to bed. 🙂

Breakfast was a flax mug muffin & coffee/cream.
After ride snack was an Atkins Peanut Fudge Granola bar & a small iced breve latte.
Lunch was cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, & ranch dressing.
Dinner was bbq pork ribs, grilled mushrooms/zucchini/peppers, fresh corn,  & home made coleslaw.

R3P4D3 – Wild kind of look to the day, Opening eyes impale neon flickers…

Whoops, I didn’t make a post yesterday… I had a nail appointment right after work and then came home & made dinner… then I went to bed early. So, a post just didn’t happen. Oh well.

Today, Hubby & I finally made it out for a ride with his new bike. Yay! We did a fairly short ride – 8.8 miles. But, the loop we do includes a 5% and a 4% grade hill. They’re not terribly long climbs, but enough to get the blood pumping. I think the most exciting thing is, though, that I didn’t have to do the swivel back and forth thing to get up the climbs! Woot!!

Tomorrow morning, we’re going to make our first attempt at the Verdi Loop ride for the season. I don’t know if I’ll feel up to doing the whole thing, but the good thing is that we can pretty much turn around and head back to the car at any point of the ride.

That being said, I’m going to bed now, ’cause we’ll be heading out fairly early for our ride.

Lunch was buffalo wings & celery/carrots.

R3P4D1 – I ain’t the worst that you’ve seen, Oh can’t you see what I mean…

Yay for Fage days actually making a dent! So, today was day one of Phase 4 – and I started out at under last injection weight. This is good. Now, hopefully tomorrow won’t bounce me right back up. 🙂

Today I did 20 minutes of Zumba on my Xbox Kinect and then 30 minutes of Dance Central 2. (Love DC2!) Woot for 50 minutes of cardio!

I’m really hoping I don’t end up getting the upper respiratory infection that Hubby has picked up… he’s been miserable for two days. Snorfling & sneezing all over the place.  I’m pushing my fluids & dosing myself with echinacea and golden seal like a good girl. So – fingers crossed for health!

Breakfast was corned beef & cabbage with coffee/cream.
Snack was Just The Cheese.
Lunch was a cobb salad with blue cheese dressing.
Dinner was chocolate mug cake with almond butter.
