R3P1D1 – Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it, Open up your mouth and feed it…

Loading Day 1: 215.6

Loading days are exhausting… and I’m so full, I’m uncomfortable.

I’m not going to list out everything I ate… so let’s just say & had a lot of fatty food today, k? Plus, I got to eat some Easter candy (Yay for Cadbury Creme Eggs!). I think I’m ending the day at right around 2800 calories. So. Yeah.

I had to actually work to get all my water in today. But, I managed 100 oz.

I’m tired & still full & going to bed.

R2P3D22 – You could have a steam train, If you’d just lay down your tracks…

Today: 217.4 / LIW: 216.8 / Net: +0.6

Tonight was my first injection for cycling into R3! Woo hoo! The next two days will be loading up. Hopefully I don’t gain too much on my loading days this round. I gained 1.4 on my first round (I don’t think I loaded very well) and 3.0 on my second round.

So, our friends who were going to come this weekend for a visit aren’t going to be able to make it. *pout* But, their reason is unavoidable and understandable. I’m still sad we won’t get to see them… The good thing is that Bestie & I are headed their direction in a couple of weeks for the San Jose Fantasy Faire, and we’ll see if they can come to the little after-show get together we’re plotting. And, we’ve already ‘rescheduled’ their visit for the weekend before the 4th of July. Yay!

Well, I don’t know what we’re going to do with ourselves all weekend, since we won’t have company… I should probably make some more glass mushrooms, though.  Oh! Bestie! Can you bring over a fairy house or two for me to photograph the “fairy house yard mushrooms” with? And that way I can approximate the “hanging lantern” sizes as well… 🙂

Okay, I’m pretty worn down from the week… so I’m going to keep this short & toddle off to bed early (yup, such a wild & crazy Friday-party-animal I am).

Breakfast was Rib Eye steak, broccoli, eggs, & coffee/cream.
Lunch was beef brisket & a mini lemon ricotta bundt cake.
Snack was a Russell Stover net-carb pecan delight & a few pistacios.
Dinner was beef brisket & asparagus with butter.

R2P3D21 – Light beams from outer space, Drifting to your satellite…

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday… things were crazy hectic. I was working on organizing my guest room (which is where I also keep all of my sewing/crafting supplies) until after 11pm last night! Once I wrapped up in there, I was so exhausted, I just went to bed. Didn’t even think about the computer!

After work yesterday was my nail appointment – and knowing I was going to be cleaning once I got home, I just couldn’t face cooking. So, I was super-naughty & picked up Vietnamese on the way home. I know it was not a smart choice… but it was yummy! (And I only _slightly_ regret the 2.8 pounds of water retention this morning.)

Of course… after spending hours working on the guest room… our guests may or may not be coming after all. There’s a storm due in tomorrow night – and they can’t chance being stuck on this side of the hill… One of them has to drive to SoCal on Sunday night for work on Monday (yuck), which means being able to head home after breakfast on Sunday. They’re going to look at the weather forecast tonight & discuss… and let me know.  I hope they do make it over, we’re looking forward to seeing them. But, I totally understand if they don’t – getting to work is important. 🙂

So, anyway. As I said above, I gained 2.8 this morning (I was down to 215 yesterday), so I’m doing a protein/fat day with lots of water. Hopefully I can get rid of some of this water retention.

Tomorrow night will be my first shot of R3! Loading on Saturday & Sunday! I’m excited… but I’m also not looking forward to the more stringent rules of the VLC days. I’m so close to my goal weight! Only about 20 pounds or so. (I may try to hit 190, to see if I can maintain there.) My general plan is to stay on R3P2 until I hit goal weight, or as long as I can keep myself motivated.

Oh! Exciting news! My friend, MizzM, is trying the Protocol out! She’s got the ‘stuff’ for a 24-26 day round. I’m hoping it works as well for her as it has for me…  I know she’s been pretty unhappy with her weight for a while now. She, also, has been trying diet & exercise. And, she’s pretty much just maintained for ages now. She has a blog, too, but I don’t know if she’ll be blogging this process. Perhaps she’ll let us know in the comments. 😉

I still occasionally feel that I’m “cheating” by using the hCG protocol – but cutting my calories & exercising was NOT working for me! I had initially lost about 35 pounds (over a year and a half), but then NOTHING for almost a year! Talk about distressing. Really makes you wonder why you’re working so hard – to not have anything happening. I really think that that long-ago doctor who basically put me on a starvation diet really f’ed up my system. I’m of the full opinion that the hCG process really has  reset my insulin responses. I know that this process has made me change my relationship with food. I’m in a better frame of self (if I may mix my metaphors) and I care more about *me* now.

The great thing is that with the weight loss I’ve had so far, I’m physically able to do more exercise.  Last time, when I tried to do the couch to 5k program, I only managed a couple of days before giving up. Twice. Now, I’ve got way more energy – and while it’s a struggle, I can totally see myself being able to eventually run an entire 5k. And I’m excited!  Of course, I won’t be running during the VLC phase… that would probably not be safe. Eating only 500 calories a day does not leave a lot of extra there for high intensity workouts.  But, I’m aiming to walk a couple miles every day. I’ve been walking a half mile every day, just taking a break at work, but I’m going to pump it up so I can jump right back into the C25K when I get back to P3.

Okay. I’m going to go to bed early tonight – to try to make up for my super late night yesterday.  *fingers crossed* that tomorrow’s weight goes in the right direction!

Wednesday food:
Breakfast was  butter chicken, riced cauliflower, eggs, & a Venti Iced Breve Latte from Starbucks.
Lunch was a really big Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing.
Dinner was Bun Thit Nuong (bbq pork noodle bowl).
Water count: 80 oz

Food today:
Breakfast was 7 oz pork chop with blue cheese sauce, 3 slices bacon, and coffee/cream.
Lunch was 5 oz beef brisket sauteed with a bit of onion, with a dollop of ricotta cheese.
Snack was 1 oz macadamia nuts & Just The Cheese.
Dinner was 4 oz Rib Eye steak.

Water count: 110 oz

R2P3D19 – And there’s nothin’ like a party when it’s kickin’ into gear…

Today: 215.4 / LIW: 216.8 / Net: -1.4

The weather was icky… but I went for my run after work anyway. I felt very accomplished. It was really windy & kind of cold – but I persevered!

Then, I got to make dinner… and my own cake. Happy birthday to me. LOL

However, I made a “low carb / gluten free” lemon bundt cake (recipe from this blog). Not too bad, if I say so myself… I think maybe next time I’ll add a bit of lemon oil or more zest. It could have been more lemony for my tastes. And – my glaze was a big fail. That’s what happens when you try to make a glaze from granulated erythritol instead of powdered. Kinda chunky. 🙂

Oh! And I finally got the picture of Bestie & I with Foreigner!! I think we look pretty awesome – we should be photographed with rock stars regularly, yes, yes we should.

Well… it might be my birthday – but, it’s also a work night – and I’m tired. So I’m going to wrap this up & head off to bed.

Breakfast was eggs, pulled pork, green beans, & coffee/cream.
Lunch was fajitas made with London Broil, baby peppers, & onion – with Greek yogurt and spicy chopped tomatoes.
Dinner was Indian Butter Chicken over riced cauliflower with saffron.
Dessert was a mini lemon ricotta bundt cake!

R2P3D18 – Relax don’t do it, when you want to go to it…

Today: 215.0 / LIW: 216.8 / Net: -1.8

*throws hands up in the air*  I give up. I have no idea what my body is doing… LOL Not that I’m unhappy to be down another pound this morning… but, I honestly figured I’d be up a bit!

I had to make the same drive as yesterday again today… My work’s Alternate Delivery Site is down there – and today was my ‘go file their stuff/audit their charts’ day. I had initially planned on doing W1D3 of my C25K when I got home tonight… but I forgot to pack a lunch and wasn’t able to escape the office to pick something up. So, all I was able to eat for “lunch” was an Atkins bar & nuts/cheese. Plus, when I got home, it was REALLY windy. I just couldn’t hype myself up enough to go out in it. :-/

Breakfast was bacon and eggs scrambled in coconut oil with tomatoes and spinach & coffee/cream.
Lunch/Snack was macadamia nuts, Just The Cheese packet, & an Atkins Peanut Butter bar.
Dinner was “low carb Brunswick Stew” with a small sprinkle of cheese. (recipe below)

R2P3D17 – Got this dance that’s more than real…

Urrr? No clue where that giant 1.8 loss came from this morning!?! So bizarre… Not that I’m not grateful to be below my LIW… but, I’m not going to hold my breath that I won’t be back up a bit tomorrow.

Had my “birthday dinner” with my parents tonight… I did pretty good with my choices, but I did have a glass of wine. So, hopefully that doesn’t completely mess with my weight in the morning.

Anyhoo… my folks live about an hour away from me, so we had a long drive down & back. So, it’s late & I’m really tired. So, this is going to be short tonight.

Breakfast was 7 oz NY steak with jalapenos, 2 eggs, & coffee/cream.
Snack was a Russell Stover “Net Carb” Turtle candy.
Dinner was procuitto wrapped prawns, broccolini with butter, and a glass of Reisling.
Dessert was some brie, some Dubliner, a bite of blue cheese, a bit of apple, & a strawberry. (Hubby & I were very good & shared a fruit/cheese platter.)

R2P3D16 – Well we know where we’re going, but we don’t know where we’ve been…

Yay, down a bit. That always makes for a happier morning. 🙂

It was a bit chilly this morning… looks like we’ve got weather blowing in again. But, I went out for my run! Yay! I did 1.9 miles in the 30 minute C25K session today. I’m still pretty sore from the first run… but I persevered! The first half of the run was a bit stiff/sore in the legs (geez, I have never had this much pain in my inner thighs before!) but my breathing was doing pretty good. The second half, my legs loosened up & I was doing great there – but I was starting to suck wind. I still did it, though! Ran every time it told me to. But, boy was I really grateful for that “walk.now.” statement each time! LOL

Honestly, at this rate, I’ll have my 23.1 miles locked down for the Progressive Marathon & completing the 5K in under an hour will be a breeze!  Of course… I’m going to have to take a bit of a run-break when I cycle back into my next VLC round. Which, if I decide for sure to ‘cycle’ this round, will begin next Monday (loading next weekend). Doing any running would be counterproductive & probably not safe. I’ll aim to walk a mile or two a day, though, just to keep my legs moving. The good thing about cycling will have me pretty darn close to my goal weight (if not hitting it) by the beginning of May. Then I can start really digging into the C25K program & getting my biking back into high gear. I think it would be super-awesome to complete a triathlon sometime in the next year!

Bestie came over today & we worked on getting our booth ready for the San Jose Fantasy Faire that we’re vendoring at next month. It’s being put on by the company that puts on Renaissance Festivals, so the rules are pretty strict on how the booths need to look. No metal showing, no pop-up roofs obvious… I have a couple rolls of canvas, so we cut out three panels and sewed them together to make non-plastic walls. That was a lot of canvas to wrestle around on the sewing table! 90″ tall by 615″ long! yowza. We also tossed together a “roof coozie” that I think looks pretty cute. Then, with wrapping the interior metal bits that hold up the roof with fake ivy & flower garlands… not too shabby!

I’ve got guests coming in to visit from out of town this next weekend (hence, the loading plan), and Bestie & I are hoping to convince them to help us paint some vine work on the plain canvas walls (which are a sort of sage green – so at least it’s not glaring white) to fantasy-glam the booth up a bit. 🙂

Breakfast was eggs scrambled with baby peppers and left-over chuck eye steak & coffee/cream.
Snack was macadamia nuts & Just The Cheese.
Lunch was a turkey burger patty with Swiss cheese and mustard & broccoli with butter.
Dinner was mushroom/turkey chili with a dolop of Greek yogurt and a sprinkle of cheddar.

R2P3D15 – Well I’ve got this feeling in the back of my head…

Well, I’m up a bit, but at least it’s only .2 – not horrible. Not above the +2 dreaded correction cap, so that’s good.

Hubby suggested that maybe I’m not eating enough veggies… so I ate veggies with every meal today – maybe tomorrow I’ll be down? 🙂

I ended up not going for my run after work today… it was really windy out and I just couldn’t face that. I’m planning on doing W1D2 of the C25K tomorrow morning instead. I figure, even if it’s windy still, I’ll be in a better frame of mind. This week has just got me whooped. Work has been crazy-busy & I think I’ve figured out why I’ve been so dang tired all week… I’ve got a bit of a sore throat, been really sneezy, and well – probably fighting off a crud of some sort. Blech.

Bestie is coming over tomorrow for some sewing… We’re making new walls for her craft fair booth. We’ve already done the measuring… now we just have to wrestle with the yards & yards of canvas! LOL

Breakfast was green beans cooked in butter, bacon, & coffee.
Snack was macadamia nuts and a packet of Just The Cheese.
Lunch was a HUGE Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing.
Dinner was a chuck eye steak, roasted radishes, & chèvre-stuffed baby peppers.

R2P3D14 – It’s the eye of the tiger, it’s the thrill of the fight…

I’m really hoping that I don’t have yet another correction day ahead of me tomorrow… *sigh* I did NOT have this much trouble last round. But, then, I also didn’t have a big bread cheat on P3D2 last round, nor did I have 4 days of gastronomic travels. So, I guess we’ll see.

I had a horribly long day at work… My eyes are burning from all of the paper dust I’ve delved through today. Meh. Doesn’t help that I’ve not been sleeping well – so I’m run down & cranky. I just want to pitch things at people’s heads. 😦 I think I’ll take some benadryl for my puffy eyes and go to bed early tonight.

I’m not nearly as sore today as I was afraid of being! Yay!  I’m doing some upper body work with my kettlebell tonight & then I’ll run again tomorrow.

Breakfast was Fage with English Toffee Stevia and a handful of frozen berries & coffee/cream.
Snack was hot & spicy microwave pork rinds and some cream cheese.
Lunch was corned beef & cabbage.
Dinner was turkey/mushroom chili with a dolop of Fage & a small sprinkle of cheddar cheese.

R2P3D13 – Hey now (wow), look at that. Did he really run you down?

Yay! Back within range!

Aaand… I’m going to be a big fat liar. I haven’t finished writing up our Bay Area Adventures… so… sorry. I’ll get it up eventually, I swear!

The good news is… Hubby & I will be joining a couple of our friends in participating in the SF Progressive Marathon this year! Yay!! Basically, you log your mileage up to 23.1 miles of the “marathon” and then complete the marathon by running/walking the 5K route on the day of the race.
Now, to complete this goal – I’m starting (again) the Couch to 5K program. I’ve started it several times, but haven’t gotten past week 2 before giving up.  But, I’m quite a bit lighter this time and I’d like to think I’m in better cardiovascular shape.  Today I completed Week1Day1. Did about 2 miles in 32 minutes.

But, now it’s past my bed time… and I still need to do some more stretching… soo….

Breakfast was eggs scrambled with spinach & onion, bacon, & coffee/cream.
Snack was a packet of Just The Cheese snack.
Lunch was cauliflower with a dab of blue cheese dressing & two turkey burgers with Swiss cheese.
Dinner was corned beef & cabbage.
